I walked, at the age of 70, almost 2,000 kms from the Pyrenees to Northern England. My book - "Vic's Big Walk" – is about the walk - and much else besides. "Living In The Real Cyprus" - quickly followed. Both books are now available in both e-book form and in paperback. The walk raised funds for Pancreatic Cancer research. Day Nineteen
At last, a dry day! I walked from Roussines to St Maurice des Lions. 30 kms, total ascents 1017 metres. So 596.5 kms since leaving home.
No rain, but not too hot yet. I believe that is in the offing.
We are now more or less in the plumb centre of France. Gay has wielded the navigational axe and we are heading more or less due north.
I stopped for coffee at the CafĂ© Bar de la Terrasse in Suris. Run by an English couple from Hampshire. They have line dancing regularly, including on 23rd July this year. I told them we would be otherwise engaged – hopefully – arriving at the destination.
